Wisst ihr, was heute ist? Wisst ihr’s? Nein? Heute ist Internationaler Flamingotag. 🦩🦩 Und als ich das meiner kleinen Swede erzählte, gab es kein anderes Thema mehr. Es wurde beraten, es wurde gezankt, es wurde abgestimmt – wir wollten zur Feier des Tages zu dem sonderbaren Figurenbrunnen in der Menschensiedlung wandern und dort unsere Flamingos zu Wasser lassen.
Aber dann kam es knüppeldick: Wenige Minuten vor unserem Eintreffen – und ich schwöre, der Weg war elendig weit – wurde der Brunnen abgestellt. Trockengelegt. Aus die Maus. Die Enttäuschung war mindestens so groß wie das Entsetzten. Aber Swede wäre keine Flamingoreiterin, wenn sie nicht doch irgendwo etwas Wasser fände. Und tatsächlich war im Mund einer der Figuren noch ein Pfützchen Wasser, genug, um den Flamingo hineinzulassen.
Eins ist mal klar: Das Flamingoreiten wird nachgeholt! Trotzdem euch allen einen wundervollen Flamingotag. 🦩Und wenn ihr mal richtige Flamingos sehen wollt, schaut doch einmal im #zooneuwied vorbei.

Do you know what day it is? Do you know? No? Well, today is International Flamingo Day. 🦩🦩 When I told my little Swede, there was no other topic. There was discussion, there was bickering, there was a voting - to celebrate the day, we wanted to hike to the strange figurine fountain in the human settlement and release our flamingos into the water.
But a few minutes before we arrived - and I swear, the way was miserably long - the fountain was turned off. The disappointment was at least as great as the dismay. But Swede wouldn’t be a flamingo rider if she didn’t find some water somewhere. And there was a puddle of water in the mouth of one of the figures left, by far enough to let the flamingo in.
For sure: flamingo riding will be rescheduled! Anyway, have a wonderful flamingo day! 🦩
