Plötzlich stach uns etwas. Etwas pikte unaufhörlich unsere Augen. Und als ich nachsah, was uns da so unablĂ€ssig marterte, da konnt ich meinen Augen kaum trauen â drauĂen, an einem blauen Himmel stand die Sonne und schien auf uns herab. Sie wollte uns wecken, damit wir sie nicht verschliefen.
Wie sagte es Kater Murr: »O Natur, heilige hehre Natur! wie durchströmt all deine Wonne, all dein EntzĂŒcken meine bewegte Brust, wie umweht mich dein geheimnisvoll sĂ€uselnder Atem!«
Und also machten wir uns bereit fĂŒr einen Ausflug in die WĂ€lder und Felder, und als wir just zur TĂŒre hinaustraten, da gewahrten wir, was Kater Murr mit dem »sĂ€uselnden Atem« meinte: Es war saukalt. Das, was ihr auf den Bildern als ein LĂ€cheln deuten mögt, ist nichts als meine festgefrorene Miene. GrundgĂŒtiger, niemals ahnte ich, dass es je so kalt werden könnte. -10°C â wenn ich wĂŒsste, was es bedeutet, wĂŒrde ich entsetzt dreinblicken. Verdammt, war das kalt.
đŹđ§ Imagine, we - Swede and Mneka and Niara and I - lay in bed and dreamed of delicious food and drinks and great hunts, and we even dreamed of sleeping. Suddenly something poked us in our eyes. And when I looked at what tormented us so incessantly, I could hardly believe my eyes - outside, in a blue sky, the sun was shining down on us. She wanted to wake us.
As Tomcat Murr said: âO nature, holy, noble nature! how all your bliss, all your delight flows through my moving chest, how your mysterious, whispering breath purrs around me!"
And so we got ready for an excursion into the woods and fields, and when we just stepped out the door, we saw what the Murr meant by the "whispering breath": It was freezing cold. What you might interpret as a smile is nothing but my frozen expression. Good gracious, I never suspected that it could ever get so cold. -10°C - if I knew what it means, I would look horrified. Damn it was cold.
